On special interests of worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Islam Ullah Khan, University of Mianwali Anti-Narcotics Society (UMW-ANS) has been established which is striving hard to make the institute safe from any kind of narcotics. The said society runs its activities on a small scale. ANS of UMW will work under the kind supervision and directions of worthy vice chancellor to provide the healthy environment.

UMW Anti-Narcotics Society (UMW-ANS) is a platform working in the University of Mianwali since 2022. This society is creating awareness among the youth against the harmful effect of drugs on human health, wealth and morality through creating awareness seminars, conferences and awareness walks, etc.

The University of Mianwali has put in place stringent measures to contain the flow of illicit drugs. Pakistan possesses single mandated Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) under Ministry of Narcotics Control (MNC), working closely with domestic counterparts and International partners.  ANS is a principal society in UMW for combating the misuse of drugs. ANS functions through multipronged strategy, which also focuses on reducing vulnerability through awareness.

Aims & Objectives

  1. To create awareness among youth in general and students of this University in particular about the ill effects of using drugs.
  2. To visit and witness drugs effectees.
  3. To organize different activities (Seminars, Poster Competition, Workshop, Walk etc.)
  4. To help drug addicted persons in prevention and rehabilitation process.
  5. To create awareness among youth in general and students of this University in particular about the ill effects of using drugs.
  6. To organize workshops on drug-abuse.
  7. To coordinate with other Anti-Narcotic groups/societies already existing in the province.
  8. To provide a platform for healthy activities of the students such as: Co-curricular such as painting, poster charts debate competition etc.
