Vision:

The Department of History and Pakistan Studies aims to lead the discipline of Social Sciences by developing and honing analytical skills of students, researchers as well as teachers, enhancing their scholarship and taking maximum advantages for academic research.

Mission:

Following the vision, The University of Mianwali (UOM) aspires to provide a world class educational system in order to pursue academic excellence. The Department of History and Pakistan Studies endeavors to polish the students and researchers intellectual skills with special focus on developing abilities to solve modern educational challenges and inculcate the skills that help them to become an independent decision maker and be a beacon light for future generations.

Scope:

The program provides exposure to young learners in order to develop their educational abilities to the maximum and offers them multiple subjects with interdisciplinary approach helping them to develop a holistic understanding of the issues and events.

Goals (Long Term and Intangible)

  • To develop a sound culture of research in the fields of History and Pakistan Studies
  • To arise a deep love for the subjects of History and Pakistan Studies among the youth of the area
  • To promote research on regional history, politics and culture
  • To conduct conferences, seminars, debates and discussions on various issues of historical importance and develop consensus on them.

Objectives (Short Term and Tangible)

  • To prepare the students and researchers for critical understanding of the national and international issues.
  • To unravel the mysteries of the past events of national and international significance.
  • To develop abilities among the students in a way that they are able to understand and analyze the events in a critical and analytical way that they may be able to perform well in the competitive exams of various types at provincial and federal levels.
