INTRODUCTION

Department of Education was established in 2012 in the response to the growing needs of teacher’s student’s education in district Mianwali. Teacher-Education plays a very vital role in shaping up the society and competence of prospective teachers. It is therefore essential for them to be adequately equipped with the required skills that would enable them to perform perfect and much required role in the environment of Mianwali. The Department of Education is one of the pioneering department of Sub-Campus Mianwali which has been offering M.Phil. Education, MA Education, B.Ed, and M.Ed Degree Programs in the light of HEC guide lines and also keeping in the view the new Education policy 2009. Another strong motivation for launching department of Education was to compete with those institutions which have turned the teacher Education into tool of making money. With this view University took upon itself as a national responsibility to serve the Education by producing the graduate who would be well-versed in their professional skills. The core mission of the Department of education is to explore the hidden potentials of the youth of this area and to instill a sprit in them to compete with advance world and to enable them to solve the national issues within the cultural and traditional values of the country. In its sincere endeavor the Department of Education will be striving hard to provide an opportunity to the people of Mianwali and the adjacent area to embark on the journey of knowledge, scientific learning and to provide competent professionals who can contribute to the socioeconomic uplift of country.

Central Library is an academic hub of research and discovery for the UMW community. CL offers outstanding multidisciplinary resources and services in support to university academic and research objectives. This prestigious library of University of Mianwali has also been striving to support its users to solve the Socioeconomic issues prevailing these days. CL is equipped with all required sources of information both in hard and digital formats. In addition to the facilities, our library is committed to accomplish the most pivotal role in information acquisition, organization, retrieval, access and use. The managers have always been focusing on enhancing the quality of system and services. Students, faculty, researchers and other stakeholders are encouraged, motivated and facilitated to take maximum benefit of the library. It is a matter of satisfaction that we have developed our web online public access catalogue (OPAC) that can help the users to reach our library database worldwide and remotely accessible 24/7.

Dr. Majeed Khan Niazi is PhD in Education and serves as Assistant Professor in the department of Education since 2017. Previously, he served as Assistant Director in Ministry of Education Since 2007 to 2011, Assistant Professor/Director in Institute of Education UAJK since 2011-2014, Assistant Professor in institute of SBBU since 2015 to 2017. Now I am working as Assistant Professor at UOS, Sub-Campus Mianwali (present UMW) since 2017 to date. I did my Ph,D in Education from PMSA,UAAR. My research work was focused on the Educational Administration. I started the journey of learning and achievements in Mianwali campus since 2017. I had actively participated in the administrative duties such as Controller of Examination, Estate Officer, Incharge Dean of social Sciences, Incharge Department of Education, Convener of Purchase Committee etc. I also supervised M.Phil students in thesis in UMW.

I started the journey of learning and achievement as a lecturer at UMW since November, 2021. I did BS Education from University of Sargodha (UOS) with distinction (Gold Medalist) as well as completed M.Phil. in Education from University of the Punjab, Lahore. My research work was focused on Educational Leadership and Management. I have learnt several courses named Educational Psychology, guidance & Counseling, Research methods in Education, Assessment and Evaluation in Teaching, Management, Philosophical Foundation of Education, Organizational Behavior, Policy Analysis at postgraduate level. I have done administrative duties in the 6th ICORE (International Conference on Research in Education) held at IER (University of the Punjab Lahore). Now I am performing administrative duties as course coordinator, time table incharge and Department Students Affairs (DSA) at Department of Education (UMW).

I have been working as a lecturer UMW since November 2021. I started the journey of learning and achievement at University of Sargodha (Sub Campus Mianwali) I did master’s degree from University of Sargodha (Sub Campus Mianwali) as well as MS in Education from International Islamic University Islamabad. My research work was focused on the curriculum development process. I have learnt several courses named as quantitative and qualitative research, Theories of educational leadership and management, Professionalism in education, Educational Studies: Philosophical, Sociological, psychological, economics, educational monitoring evaluation and quality management, and Educational Planning, Financing and Monitoring. I have done administrative duties in the I have done my duties as an Admin Officer at Punjab College of Sciences Mianwali in 2015 as well as I have also done administrative duties at International Islamic University Islamabad under Prime Minister Youth Training Scheme from July 2017 to June 2018. I have actively participated in the process of admission for fall 2021. I also performing different duties such as admission in charge, department record keeping in charge at Department of Education( UMW).
