PEEF SCHOLARSHIP

INTRODUCTION

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) under guidance of the Board of Directors is providing opportunities to the talented but needy students to fulfill their dreams and aspirations and at the same time to become partner in the development and welfare of Pakistan.

The PEEF, since its inception in 2009 has awarded more than 380,000 scholarships to students of Punjab and other provinces which are currently pursuing education through public and private sector institutions and Centre of Excellence like LUMS, NUST, FAST, IBA Karachi, GIKI Swabi, etc. These scholarships have been awarded for pursuing:

  • Secondary
  • Intermediate
  • Graduation
  • Master's
  • Ph.D

As on 30th July. 2020, PEEF has awarded more than 380,000 scholarships worth Rs. 22 billion. Furthermore, with the inclusion of current year's scholarships (2020-21), the total number of scholarships awarded will be raised to more than 394,000.

The PEEF is registered with:

  • Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan under section 42 of Companies Ordinance, 1984
  • Federal Board of Revenue under section 10 of Finance Act 2001

Vision

Creation of a pool of talented Pakistani youth from less privileged background; contributing towards economic and social development, to realize the dream of a moderate, progressive and prosperous Pakistan.

Mission

Building a critical mass of human capital, participating in nation building; through the provision of equitable opportunities to the less privileged but academically brilliant girls and boys in Punjab.

OBJECTIVE

PEEF has been established with the objective of promoting academic excellence by providing financial support to talented and deserving students to help them realize their potential. This programme envisages developing the overall personality of students and creating a critical mass of talented students that will contribute to the development of the society. Following are the four (4) major objectives of PEEF:

  • Scholarship for talented and less privileged students to bring them at par with the more fortunate ones
  • Creation of a critical mass of talented youth for the development of society
  • Identification and support to extremely marginalised students through special quotas
  • Supporting the less privileged and best students of Punjab Board for Technical Education (PBTE), other provinces - including Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) , Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT)

PEEF has allocated 20% of its annual scholarship quota for Master's Level Education. These scholarships are awarded to talented and deserving students enrolled in partner universities of the Punjab. In order to be considered eligible for PEEF Master's level scholarships; the student must fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The students must have:

  • Punjab domicile
  • Secured at least 60% marks or a minimum CGPA 2.5 in BA/ BSc/ BCOM/ BS/ BBA etc. in annual examination held in last three years in Punjab.
    • Secured admission as a fulltime student in the current academic year in a partner university
      • Students enrolled in spring/fall session (where applicable) and morning/ afternoon / evening sessions (where applicable) are also eligible to apply for PEEF Master's scholarships.
  • Declared monthly income of parents (from all sources) is equal to or less than PKR. 37,000/-
    • Children of Government employees in BPS 1-4 are exempted from the condition of income, if salary is only source of income.
    • Children of civilians martyred in terrorist attacks are also exempted from the condition of income limit
  • Besides fulfilling PEEF eligibility criteria, the prospective student must qualify the merit and need criteria of the respective University / government post graduate college.

Note
Following students are not eligible for PEEF Master's level scholarship:

  • Students who have already passed / got MA / MSc / MS / MPhil etc. degree
  •  Marks improvers or students who have passed examination in supplementary session
  • Students who have already passed / got MA / MSc / MS / MPhil etc. degree
  •  Marks improvers or students who have passed examination in supplementary session

HOW TO APPLY?

  • PEEF has allocated scholarship quotas to all the partner universities of Punjab
  • Please download the scholarship application form from PEEF website and submit the duly filled scholarship application form to respective university (the scholarship application forms can also be requested from the financial aid office of the respective university )
  • Scholarship application forms submitted directly to PEEF shall not be entertained.

DISBURSEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP STIPENDS

  • PEEF scholarship stipends are disbursed on biannual basis.
  • The next scholarship installment is released on the basis of acknowledgement of the previous scholarship stipend and satisfactory academic performance and scholar assessment report submitted by the university / degree awarding institution.

DURATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS

  • PEEF scholarships are awarded till the completion of the degree course the student is enrolled in. However, if the student fails to maintain the required / satisfactory academic performance level, or is involved in any disciplinary act; the University/ or the PEEF, reserve the right to cancel the scholarship.
