Mianwali, February 8, 2024 —— On Februrary 7, 2024, Prof Dr. Islam Ullah Khan, the esteemed Vice Chancellor of the University of Mianwali, called upon Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in his office and discussed the exceptional strides made by the University in a remarkably short period.
Since its inception four years ago, the University of Mianwali has seen a rapid acceleration in growth and development, now boasting an enrollment of over 5,000 students. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Islam underlined the challenges faced by the University, particularly highlighting the constraints posed by limited infrastructure and land. However, to sustain and build on this momentum, Dr. Islam emphasized the urgent need for enhanced financial support from the Higher Education Commission, especially given the limited funding received from the Punjab government to Date.
Responding to the concerns raised, Chairman Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad recognized the financial issues encountered by newly established universities and assured that the HEC is actively working with the government to secure additional funds. He committed to prioritizing adjustments in financial support for the University of Mianwali as soon as possible.
